Service Interaction Diagram

The service interaction diagram is based on elastic section analysis. The service diagram contains four points per line as shown in the example image below. There are two lines shown in the diagram. These lines are for all service loads and sustained loads only. These lines can be identified by the legend in the top right corner of each diagram. Green points are passing, yellow points are passing all loads but not sustained loads, and red points are failing. The points that determine the line are listed below:

  1. Pure Compression in the member

  2. Maximum Axial Load1

  3. Balance Point

  4. Pure Tension in the member

Service Interaction Diagram
  1. Based on minimum eccentricity taken as the larger of 1” or 5% of pile diameter if pile contains spiral reinforcement or taken as the larger of 1” or 10% of pile diameter if pile contains hoops/ties
