Transverse Rebar

Stirrups

Transverse reinforcement (shear steel) is defined in zones.  A zone consists of a number of spaces of a stirrup at a specified spacing.

If “Symmetric” is check marked, then the stirrup pattern is assumed to be symmetric, in which case the pattern entered will be mirrored to the opposite end of the girder.

Start Location: The start location of the stirrups.

Size: Size of the stirrups.

Legs: Number of legs.

Quantity: Quantity of the stirrups.

Spacing: Spacing between stirrups.

Zone Length: The length of zone.

Area: Area of stirrups measured per foot.

Steel Area

The transverse reinforcement can also be defined by area.  Again it is defined in zones.  In this case, however, a zone consists of a steel area and a length.

If “Symmetric” is check marked, then the stirrup pattern is assumed to be symmetric about the mid-span, in which case the pattern entered will be mirrored to the opposite end of the girder.

Area: Area of stirrups measured per foot.

Zone Length: The length of zone.

Reference Color: Color for each zone.
