Non-Sway Analysis

For a non-sway analysis the software considers three analysis models: Pinned-pinned with no lateral restraints, pinned-pinned with a lateral restraint at the top left, and pinned-pinned with a lateral restraint at the top right. The software swaps between these three models depending on the loads being applied to the culvert. If only vertical loads exist or if the sum of lateral loads is equal to zero the program uses the model without any lateral restraints. If the loads are pushing the culvert to the right, a roller is placed at the top right corner of the system. If the loads are pushing the culvert to the left, a roller is placed at the top left corner of the system. Because of this, the corner loads are only being restrained when moving in an outward direction. This keeps results like self weight and vertical each symmetric.
