Concrete Extents
This tab covers the concrete extents and architectural features of the column.
Dimensions
Header | Description |
---|---|
Top / Bottom Elevation | The elevation of the top and bottom of the column. All input based elevations are based on these input values. By setting the bottom elevation to a non-zero value, you can later update the foundation elevation (if needed) and the loads and supports will not have to be updated. Setting the elevation also assists with quicker checking as it will match corresponding drawings / models. More information on this can be found on the Elevation Based Input page. |
Height | The height of the panel is the top elevation minus the bottom elevation. |
Typical Section
The typical section is the average column cross-section, neglecting holes and voids.
Header | Description |
---|---|
Width | The total width of the column (x size) |
Depth | The total depth of the column (y size) |
Corner Type | None: Corners will all be right angles Fillet: Will apply a rounded corner with a radius equal to the user input. Chamfer: Will apply a flat corner with legs equal to the user input. |
Voids
Header | Description |
---|---|
Add Rectangular | Add a new rectangular void to the column. |
Add Triangular | Add a new triangular void to the column. |
Remove | Remove one or more rows in the voids table. |
Copy | Copy a row in the voids table. |
Position Along Length | Position: Distance from start (bottom) of column. Length: Overall length of the void as measured parallel to the height of the column. |
Position in Cross Section | Horizontal Position: Horizontal location position of the void measured from the left edge of the column to the left edge of the void. Width: Width of the void. Vertical Position: Vertical location of the void measured from bottom face of the column to the bottom face of the void. Height: Height of the void. |
