Getting Results

There are seven distinct view where results are displayed:

  1. Main View: The main view displays a limited set of input, along with the reinforcement schedule and several reinforcement views.

2. Ratings Summary: This page displays a table showing the controlling rating for each truck and fill depth combination. Note that the controlling rating is determined by selecting the minimum calculated Load Ratings from all cases.

In the Critical Sections Summary, the controlling rating is selected as the lowest utilization rate, calculated as the ratio of demand to capacity.

3. Reinforcement Summary: This page shows the reinforcement layout for the design.

4. Text Report: The text report contains a re-print of all the input data, along with detailed design and analysis results.

The text report also indicates if the culvert has passed all design checks. If there are design deficiencies, they will be indicated in three ways:

  1. A ‘Design Deficiencies’ window will appear on the right side of the text report listing the deficiencies. Clicking on any of these deficiencies will automatically navigate you to the corresponding section of the text report.

  2. The corresponding line in the text report will be highlighted red.

  3. The deficient value will be denoted with an asterisks ( * ).

Tip: You can zoom the report by using a combination of the control key and mouse wheel.

5. Results Graphs: Use the results graphs to view axial, shear, and bending moment diagrams of all members for any load type.

6. Results Grid: The Results Grid is accessed from the Results menu. The Results Grid shows the same data as the Results Graph (and some data not shown in the Results Graph) but shows the raw data in a grid. The user can select the Member and Load Type data to be shown. If using a range of fill depths than the user can also select the fill depth. The grid will show the Location along the member, the moment(s), shear(s), and axial force(s).

This data can be copied to the clipboard to be pasted into any application that also uses the clipboard like a spreadsheet.  Use the mouse to select a range of cells to copy, then press Ctrl+C.

7. 3D Model: The culvert under design can be rendered in 3D. Eriksson Culvert utilizes a sophisticated, true 3D graphical rendering window. State-of-the-art OpenGL graphics are incorporated directly into Eriksson Culvert.

To view the 3D model, click the ‘create 3D model’ button on the main toolbar (the icon looks like a sphere).
