The analysis will automatically discount any reinforcement that is present at an opening. For mild reinforcement, it will cut it exactly at the block out and will not add in cover.

Strand

By selecting a row in the grid the user can edit the lateral position of the strand by either giving the offset from the previous strand or the strands location from the rail.

The add minimum button will automatically add the minimum amount of strand, assuming a 15% loss in prestress.  The strand will also automatically be evenly spaced across the width of the panel.

The mirror strand button will copy the selected row and mirror it about the c.g. of the panel for insulated panels, and relative to the faces for other types of panels (using the cover).

Header

Description

Size

Select from a predefined list of sizes, or assign a custom size.

Area

Area of the strand (required for custom sizes).

Diameter

Diameter of the strand (required for custom sizes).

Quantity

Quantity of strands

% Pull

Pull fraction that is multiplied times ultimate stress to obtain pull stress

Depth to CG

Depth of the prestressed reinforcement.

Top Debond Length

Length of any debonding starting at the top of the panel.

Bottom Debond Length

Length of any debonding starting from the bottom of the panel.

Save Pattern

Save the current strand pattern to disk.

Open Pattern

Retrieve a previously saved strand pattern from disk.

Rebar

The mirror rebar button will copy the selected row and mirror it about the c.g. of the panel for insulated panels, and relative to the faces for other types of panels (using the cover).

Header

Description

Size

ASTM bar size of reinforcement.  If custom is selected, custom bar area and diameter must be entered.

Area

Bar area for the selected bar, and is not editable when an ASTM bar size is specified.  When a ‘Custom’ type is specified, the user must input this value.

Diameter

Bar diameter for the selected bar, and is not editable when an ASTM bar size is specified. When a ‘Custom’ type is specified, the user must input this value.

Quantity

Quantity of bars.

Spacing

Spacings of the bars.

Depth to CG

Depth of the mild reinforcement.

Location from Left

Location from the left end of the panel where the reinforcement will begin.

Start from Bottom

Start of bar as measured from the bottom of the panel.

End from Top

End of bar as measured from the top of the panel

Start / End Condition

Here you can select between five different end conditions:  straight, 90 degree hook, 180 degree hook, headed, headed, and anchored (always assumed to be 100% developed).  These end conditions are used in calculating the development length.  The start of the panel is assumed to be the bottom of the panel in the final condition.

Mesh

Welded wire reinforcement (commonly referred to as ‘mesh’) is input as sheets instead of individual line and cross wires and their respective spacings.

Pressing the minimum reinforcement button will automatically add the a sheet of mesh in the panel (or in each wythe for insulated panels).  This minimum amount is calculated from the required shrinkage and temperature reinforcement.

The mirror mesh button will copy the selected row and mirror it about the c.g. of the panel for insulated panels, and relative to the faces for other types of panels (using the cover).

Header

Description

Line Wire Size

Size of the main line (vertical) wires.

Line Wire Spacing

Spacing of the main line (vertical) wires.

Cross Wire Size

Size of the cross (horizontal) wires.

Cross Wire Spacing

Spacing of the cross (horizontal) wires.

Type

Mesh reinforcement type.  W is smooth wire and D is deformed wire.

Depth

Depth of the WWR sheet.

Loc from Left

Location from the left end of the panel where the WWR sheet will begin.

Loc from Right

Location from the right end of the panel where the WWR sheet will end.

Start from Bot

Start of the WWR sheet as measured from the bottom of the panel.

End from Top

End of the WWR sheet as measured from the top of the panel.

Reinforcement Interrupts

Reinforcement interrupts can be used to stop reinforcement at a given location. These are often used to cut reinforcement at joints between panels. The reinforcement will be removed over the entire length of the interrupt.

Header

Description

Start

The location of the beginning of the interrupt measured from the bottom of that panel.

Length

The length of the interrupt.

Quantity

The total number of interrupts.

Spacing

The spacing of the interrupts. This is the start to start spacing.

Cut…

Options to cut strand, rebar, and / or mesh.
