Assemble part will create an assembly from a chosen part similar to creating an assembly with Revit except it will use the settings in Sync to automatically set and orient the assembly’s origin for designing and reinforcing as well as including other elements in the assembly if selected.

Before assembling the selected part or parts, an assembly type must be selected, settings can be adjusted, and additional elements contained within the part can be added to the assembly.

The available options for Assembly Type are:

  • From Family Map - Determines the settings from the Design Type defined in the family map of the selected part. For example, if the part’s Design Type is Wall then the part will be assembled using the settings for walls. This is the default value and will be used in most cases.

  • Beam - Assembles the part using the settings for beams ignoring the Design Type of the part.

  • Column - Assemble the part using the settings for columns ignoring the Design Type of the part.

  • Wall - Assemble the part using the settings for walls ignoring the Design Type of the part.

Click the Settings button to go to the Assembly Options and adjust the settings for creating assemblies.

Check Include elements contained within part in assembly to automatically add elements such as reinforcement and lifters to the assembly.
