Settings for adding lifters can be configured to specify how to position the lifters and which components in the Tekla components library to use for the types of lifters. Walls, beams and columns each have their own settings.

Position

All types of parts have the same settings for positioning lifters.

There are five methods for positioning lifters:

  • Relative Position will use the same relative position as defined in the design file.

  • Nearest End will

  • From Center

  • From End

  • From Start

Component

To place lifters into the model, components must be set for the two types of lifters for each part. Clicking the button to the right of a lifter type will bring up a Tekla Structures “Select component” window where all components can be viewed and the lifter component selected. Once selected, the name of the component will be shown in the Component text box.

Walls

For walls, components can be defined for face and edge lifters. The Handling tab in Eriksson Wall defines the stages to use lifters and the positioning of the lifters. Lifters can be shown for the Stripping, Primary Erection, and Secondary Erection stages. For any stage, lifters placed exactly at the bottom or top of the wall are defined as edge lifters and all others are face lifters.

Beams

Components for beams can be defined for top and side lifters. The Structural Model tab in Eriksson Beam defines the stages to use lifters and the positioning of the lifters.

Columns

For columns, components can be set for face and end lifters. The Handling tab in Eriksson Column defines the stages to use lifters and the positioning of the lifters. Lifters can be shown for the Stripping, Primary Erection, and Secondary Erection stages. For any stage, lifters placed exactly at the bottom or top of the column are defined as end lifters and all others are face lifters.
