Copy Strand(s): Copies one or more rows within the strand table.

Strand Table

Size: Select from a predefined list of sizes, or assign a custom size.

% Pull: Pull fraction that is multiplied times ultimate stress to obtain pull stress.

Area: Area of the strand (required for custom sizes).

Diameter: Diameter of the strand (required for custom sizes).

Strand Quantity: Input the # of rows and columns of strands.

Edge Distances: Distance from the corresponding edge (Left, Right, Back, or Front) and the c.g. of the closest strand row or column.

Rebar

For mild reinforcement, the user must account for holes themselves.

...

Mirror Bars: Mirrors the current row about the c.g. of the column for insulated columns, and relative to the faces for other types of columns (using the cover).

Rebar Table

Size: ASTM bar size of reinforcement.  If custom is selected, custom bar area and diameter must be entered.

Area: Bar area for the selected bar, and is not editable when an ASTM bar size is specified.  When a ‘Custom’ type is specified, the user must input this value.

Diameter: Bar diameter for the selected bar, and is not editable when an ASTM bar size is specified. When a ‘Custom’ type is specified, the user must input this value.

Quantity: Input the # of rows and columns of strands.

Edge Distances: Distance from the corresponding edge (Left, Right, Back, or Front) and the c.g. of the closest strand row or column.

Position Down Length: Position along the length of the member input as the start of bar as measured from the bottom of the column, and the end of bar as measured from the top of the column.

End Conditions: Here you can select between five different end conditions:  straight, 90 degree hook, 180 degree hook, headed, headed, and anchored (always assumed to be 100% developed).  These end conditions are used in calculating the development length.  The start of the column is assumed to be the bottom of the column in the final condition.

Transverse

Transverse reinforcement (ties) may be added in this section.  Typically these consist of individual rectangular ties spaced evenly along the length of the member (sometimes with multiple ties spaced closer together at the ends of the member or below corbels).  Continuous spirals are also supported.

...

Copy Transverse: Copy one or more rows within the transverse table.

Transverse Table

Size: ASTM bar size of transverse bar.  If custom is selected, custom bar area and diameter must be entered.

Area: Bar area for the selected transverse bar, and is not editable when an ASTM bar size is specified.  When a ‘Custom’ type is specified, the user must input this value.

Diameter: Bar diameter for the selected transverse bar, and is not editable when an ASTM bar size is specified. When a ‘Custom’ type is specified, the user must input this value.

Spacing: Spacing (or pitch if spiral) of the transverse bars.

Longitudinal Position: Longitudinal position along the length of the member input as the start of the first transverse bar of this group of bars as measured from the bottom of the column, and the last transverse bar of this group of bars as measured from the top of the column.  For spirals, this is the start and end of the spiral.

Required Covers: Distance to the outside edge of the transverse bar from the various faces of the member (Left, Back, Right, and Front).
