The Profile field shows the profile name as LBEAM and a list of values that define the beam’s concrete extents with each value separated by an asterisk. The properties can be viewed in greater detail by clicking the button next to the Profile field.

This window shows exactly how the profile string is defined and what property of the beam each value in the string represents. For the LBEAM, the profile string is of the form “LBEAM a*b*c*d*f” where the symbols a, b, c, d, and f are values for different properties of the beam as shown in the grid at the bottom right of the dialog box. The relationship between property and symbol is needed to make the profile map.
