An existing job can be opened by selecting “Open File” on the left or selecting recent job from the recent file list immediately below the Open File icon.  A new job can be started by selecting one of the new job types on the right.  The new job selections can be changed by modifying the job files found under ‘…\Documents\Eriksson Software\Eriksson Column\StartUp Files’.  These are regular job files that when opened in this menu will open as new jobs.

When you start the program, the first screen wind you will see is the Startup Screen.

To start a new project, click on job, the user can use one of the large icons program default files in the center of this screen.  When you click on one of the large icons, a short preview will be shown on the right side.

Pressing the Enter key will load the selected start up project.

On the left-hand side, you have two options, Open file and a Recent file list.

Clicking on Open File opens a standard Windows open file dialog box.  Moving your mouse over the list of files in the Recent file list will highlight them one by one.  Clicking on a file while highlighted will load that file.

Once you have opened a file by one of the previous methods, you will come to the main screen.  Here you can input the parameters for a project, run an analysis, view results, and get various types of output.

For input of parameters, you can select from five input tabs on the left-hand side of the screen.

To run an analysis, click on the run analysis button on the toolbar, or press Alt+R.

To view the output, select one of the output tabs on the left-hand side of the screen.

For printing, click on the print icon in the toolbar, or press Ctrl+P.

To set your print options, select Options from the File menu, and then select the Printing Options tab.  Here you can choose with portions of the file you wish to print.

Two additional items to point out on the startup screen.  Pressing the following button:

Displays some options in the left hand pane that allow the user to change the appearance of the startup screen and set the startup path.

Pressing this button:

Changes the icons on the startup screen to a folder tree to allow you to navigate to a different folderthe screen or click ‘Use Custom Start Up Files’ to access user defined start up files. These files exist at a user specified folder on disk which can be edited using the buttons at the top of the window here:

It is typical to create a library of start up files containing the typical values the user inputs. These are often stored at a central location to be shared between multiple users.
