Solid zones can be added to any part using the Add Solid Zones tool. When the Add Solid Zones button is clicked messages will be shown in Tekla Structures' status bar at the bottom of the window describing each step in the process of adding the solid zone. It can be cancelled at any time by right-clicking to get the Tekla Structures pop-up menu and selecting Interrupt.
Steps to add a solid zone
Click the Add Solid Zones button from the Eriksson Sync launcher window. The launcher window will be removed to give easier access to the model.
Pick the part to modify by clicking on it.
Pick the starting point of the solid zone on the appropriate face of the part.
Draw the polygon describing the outline of the solid zone using typical Tekla Structures tools. All points must be on a single plane. The outline can be finished by either clicking on the first point to close the shape or clicking the middle mouse button.
Two points must be picked for the extrusion of the solid zone.
The solid zone will be drawn in the model.
Once the solid zone is created the Eriksson Sync launcher window will be shown again.
