Operation

The Edit Cross Section window stays open so that it can be updated as parts are selected in the model.

The left side of the window consists of tabs showing the different types of sections that can be edited. Clicking on a tab will show the editable properties of that section. If a part with that section is not selected then a note will be shown in the window stating that type of section is not currently selected.

  • Reset will clear all inputs in the dialog box.

  • Import will allow the opening of an Eriksson design file of the appropriate type to import the section properties.

  • Run will edit the cross sections of the selected parts in the model according to the inputs in the dialog box.

Walls

On the Walls page of the Edit Cross Section dialog the type of wall can be set to solid or insulated and the properties of each type can be edited. A wall must be selected in the model. The Section Type drop down box is used to change the type to solid or insulated.

Solid

For solid walls only the thickness can be edited.

Insulated

...

For insulated walls, properties of the section and the insulation position can be edited.

The section information consists of the thicknesses of the top wythe, insulation, and the bottom wythe. The insulation position consists of the widths of the top end block, bottom end block, left holdback, and right holdback.

Columns

For columns the width and depth of the rectangular section can be edited.

Beams

The different types of beams that can be edited in Sync are shown in the tabs along the left side of the Edit Cross Section window.
